Switch configuration and key parametrics
The MAX323CUA+ integrates two independent SPST-NO (single-pole, single-throw, normally-open) switch channels, each with a 1:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer configuration. Maximum on-resistance is 60 Ohms, with channel-to-channel matching guaranteed to 800 mOhm — this keeps the insertion loss consistent across both signal paths in differential or stereo audio routing. Switching speed is specified at 150 ns turn-on and 100 ns turn-off maximum, making it suitable for audio muting, signal gating, and data acquisition front-ends where the sample rate stays below a few megahertz. Charge injection is a low 1 pC typical, which minimizes the voltage glitch on the analog bus when the switch opens or closes — a critical spec for sample-and-hold circuits and precision DAC output switching. Off-channel leakage current is 100 pA maximum, and channel capacitance (both CS(off) and CD(off)) is 9 pF typical, preserving signal integrity in high-impedance sensor paths. Crosstalk between channels is rated at -85 dB at 1 MHz, so the two switches can carry independent audio or low-frequency analog signals without measurable bleed-through in a 16-bit system.
