Supply range and receiver hysteresis
Receiver hysteresis of 500 mV provides noise immunity on the RS-232 bus, reducing false triggering from coupled transients on long cable runs. Full-duplex operation with two independent driver/receiver pairs allows simultaneous transmit and receive on two separate channels, matching the pinout of a standard DB9 serial port.
Housed in a 20-TSSOP (4.40 mm width) with 0.65 mm pitch, the package fits on a two-layer PCB with standard trace-and-space rules.
