20-TQFN RS-232 transceiver, 2/2 driver/receiver
The MAX3224EETP+ is a full-duplex RS-232 transceiver from Analog Devices, packing two drivers and two receivers into a 20-TQFN (5x5 mm) package with an exposed thermal pad. Data rate hits 250 kbps — fast enough for legacy serial links, debug consoles, and point-of-sale peripherals that run at 115.2 kbps with headroom for higher baud rates. Supply range spans 3V to 5.5V, so it works off a 3.3V rail or a 5V industrial bus without a separate level shifter.
Board-fit and thermal: 20-pin TQFN with exposed pad
Receiver hysteresis is specified at 500 mV — this filters noise on the RS-232 line without external schmitt-trigger gates, keeping the data valid across a longer cable run. Surface-mount only — no through-hole variant. The tube packaging means it ships in anti-static tubes, not reel; fine for prototype or low-volume builds, but a reel request needs a different order code.
