The MAX3221CUE+: Data rate reaches 235 kbps, which covers the typical UART speeds used in industrial serial links — 115.2 kbps and 230.4 kbps — with margin for the start/stop bit overhead. The receiver includes 300 mV of hysteresis, which cleans up noisy RS-232 lines by suppressing chatter around the switching threshold — useful when the cable runs a few metres through a factory floor.
