Switch parametrics that govern the analog path
The MAX312FESE+: Four SPST-NC (normally-closed) switch channels, each with a 1:1 multiplexer configuration, means the signal path is closed when the control voltage is low — useful for fail-safe circuits that must pass a signal through unless actively disconnected. Maximum on-resistance is 10 Ohm, with channel-to-channel matching held to 50 mOhm — the tight matching keeps gain errors consistent across channels in precision analog multiplexing or data acquisition front-ends. Switching times are 225 ns (turn-on) and 185 ns (turn-off) maximum, fast enough for sample rates up to several MHz in moderate-speed ADC drivers or audio routing. Charge injection is rated at 70 pC typical, and off-leakage current is 1 nA maximum — both figures matter for high-impedance sensor interfaces where injected charge or leakage can shift the signal baseline. Crosstalk between channels is -104 dB at 1 MHz, providing isolation that keeps a signal on one channel from bleeding into an adjacent channel in multi-channel switching applications. Channel capacitance (CS(off) and CD(off)) is 20 pF each — this capacitance forms a voltage divider with the source impedance and limits the bandwidth; for a 10 kOhm source the -3 dB corner is roughly 800 kHz.
