10 Mbps full-duplex RS485 transceiver in 14-SOIC
The MAX3089ECSD+T is a single RS485/RS422 transceiver from Analog Devices that pushes 10 Mbps over a differential pair — fast enough for Profibus DP, DMX512, or backplane links where the bus doesn't drop to half-duplex. It runs full duplex, meaning separate transmit and receive pairs, so the data flows both ways simultaneously without a direction-toggle pin. The 100 mV receiver hysteresis cleans up slow edges on long cables, reducing bit errors on a 400 m run at lower baud rates.
