Quad RS422/RS485 line driver — 20 Mbps, 5V supply
The MAX3045BEUE+T is a quad RS422/RS485 line driver from Analog Devices, delivering 20 Mbps data rate over a 4.75V to 5.25V supply rail. With four drivers and no receivers, it is a pure transmit-side IC — specified for applications where the bus needs only drive capability, such as PLC output stages or industrial encoder interfaces. The 20 Mbps signaling rate supports cable runs up to several hundred metres at lower speeds, but at full rate the cable length is limited by signal rise-time degradation — expect 100–200 m at 20 Mbps with proper termination.
Supply range and temperature grade
Operating from a single 5V supply (4.75V min, 5.25V max), the MAX3045BEUE+T is compatible with standard 5V logic and industrial power rails. The 16-TSSOP package (0.173-inch body width, 4.40 mm) is a common footprint for multi-channel interface ICs. The surface-mount profile keeps board area compact, but the fine-pitch leads require careful solder-paste stencil design to avoid bridging.
