Filter topology and roll-off for anti-aliasing duty
The MAX293EWE+ implements an 8th-order elliptic (Cauer) low-pass switched-capacitor filter with a 25 kHz cutoff frequency — the elliptic topology delivers the steepest roll-off for a given order, making it suitable for anti-aliasing before an ADC or for reconstruction after a DAC where the transition band must be narrow. A single filter channel in a 16-SOIC wide-body package; the switched-capacitor architecture sets the corner frequency by an external clock or internal oscillator, eliminating the need for precision passive components in the signal path.
Supply rail flexibility for mixed-signal systems
Operates from a single 4.75 V to 11 V supply or from dual ±2.375 V to ±5.5 V rails — the dual-supply option allows the filter to handle bipolar signals without external level shifting, simplifying the interface to ±5 V analog front-ends.
Lifecycle and compliance for procurement review
ROHS3 compliant, meeting the current exemption-free RoHS directive for solder-joint reliability in lead-free reflow profiles.
