100 Mbps RS485 link in a 3×3 mm footprint
The MAX22501EATA+T is a single-channel RS422/RS485 transceiver from Analog Devices, built for 100 Mbps signalling over balanced twisted-pair lines. Half-duplex operation with one driver and one receiver on the same pair keeps the bus wiring simple — two wires carry both transmit and receive, switched by the driver enable. The 250 mV receiver hysteresis rejects noise on long cable runs where ground offset and reflections eat into the differential signal margin. Industrial temperature grade from -40°C to +125°C means the transceiver holds its timing and drive strength in an enclosure that sees motor-drive heat or outdoor solar loading — no derating required up to the top of the range.
