Octal industrial digital input serializer
The MAX22190ATJ+T from Analog Devices is an octal industrial digital input serializer. It converts eight 24 V field-side digital signals into a single SPI data stream, reducing the number of backplane wires and optocoupler channels in a PLC or remote I/O module. The 1.2 mA supply current keeps the heat contribution low, even with all eight channels active.
SPI output and supply current
The SPI output connects directly to an MCU SPI port without an external level translator — the serialized data frame includes channel status and a fault flag, so the host reads one register per cycle instead of polling eight GPIOs. The 5x5 mm body fits dense four-layer boards.
