Switching frequency and output flexibility
A higher frequency shrinks the magnetics but increases FET switching loss; the 3 MHz ceiling keeps the converter out of the AM band and simplifies EMI filtering in sensitive receiver chains. Each output is independently adjustable via an external resistor divider, with a minimum reference of 0.5 V. The positive-output configuration means no negative-rail generation without an additional inverting stage. Note that the synchronous rectifier is listed as 'No' — this is an asynchronous (diode-rectified) buck. The external Schottky diode adds a component but eliminates the risk of cross-conduction and simplifies the layout for designers who prefer a discrete catch diode over an integrated FET.
