What this PMIC does in a portable design
The MAX20303BEWN+T is a power management IC from the ModelGauge™ series, designed to handle battery charging and system power rail sequencing in portable and handheld equipment. It communicates over an I²C bus for register-based control of charge parameters, fault flags, and fuel-gauge reporting. On-chip fault protection covers over-current and over-temperature events, so the host doesn't need to supervise every edge case. The operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C suits industrial handhelds, medical portable instruments, and outdoor IoT gateways — anything that lives in a climate-controlled enclosure or sees moderate ambient swings. It is not rated for under-hood automotive or engine-bay environments.
Sourcing and lifecycle posture
The MAX20303BEWN+T carries an Active lifecycle status per the manufacturer, with ROHS3 compliance confirmed. No end-of-life notice or last-time-buy window is currently in effect.
