Automotive buck regulator for 2 A point-of-load rails
The Maxim MAX20002CATPA/V+ is an AEC-Q100 qualified synchronous step-down (buck) converter delivering a programmable output of 1 V to 10 V from a 3.5 V to 36 V input rail. The single 2 A output is internally compensated and uses synchronous rectification, so no external Schottky catch diode is needed. The 20-TQFN (5x5) package with exposed pad keeps the thermal path short for automotive under-hood or cabin environments rated to 125 °C junction temperature.

The 3.5 V minimum input covers cold-crank events; the 36 V maximum handles load-dump transients. The switching frequency is programmable from 220 kHz to 2.2 MHz.
