Active DAS with 12-bit, 100k throughput
The MAX197ACAI+: It samples at 100k samples per second, which is fast enough for many industrial sensor and control applications where you need to digitize multiple analog signals without an external mux. The part runs from a single 4.75V to 5.25V supply, so it's a straightforward drop-in for a 5V logic rail without needing a separate analog supply.
Parallel interface and channel count
Data is read out over a parallel interface, which gives you deterministic read timing compared to a serial bus — useful when the host controller needs to capture a conversion result within a fixed window. With 8 input channels, you can monitor up to eight separate analog signals, switching between them under software control. The 12-bit resolution gives 4096 counts, adequate for 0.1% accuracy applications.
Housed in a 28-SSOP (0.209", 5.30mm width) surface-mount package, the MAX197ACAI+ fits on a standard PCB footprint with 0.65mm pin pitch. The supplier device package is also 28-SSOP, so the land pattern is consistent.
It is RoHS3 compliant, meeting the current EU restriction on hazardous substances, which simplifies compliance for products sold into regulated markets.
