12-bit SAR ADC with internal reference and SPI
The MAX187CCPA+ is a 12-bit successive-approximation (SAR) ADC from Analog Devices, sampling at 75k samples per second over a single-ended input with an internal reference — no external reference IC needed for the conversion chain. Data transfers over an SPI interface, keeping the digital side to a 4-wire bus that connects directly to any MCU or DSP with a serial port. The analog and digital supplies both run at 5V, simplifying the rail budget in a single-supply system.
Supplied in a tube (the standard through-hole DIP carrier). The single ADC channel and 1:1 S/H-to-ADC ratio mean the input is sampled directly without a multiplexer ahead of the converter.
