12-bit SAR ADC with SPI — fit for precision data acquisition
The MAX187BCWE+ is a 12-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter from Analog Devices, sampling at 75k samples per second over an SPI serial interface. Operating from a single 5V supply for both analog and digital rails, the device accepts a single-ended input with a 1:1 S/H-to-ADC ratio. The 0°C to 70°C temperature grade suits controlled indoor or lab environments — not extended industrial or automotive ranges.
The 1.27 mm pitch is compatible with standard SOIC footprints and does not require via-in-pad or micro-via fan-out. The supplier device package is 16-SOIC — the same mechanical outline as the package/case. Decoupling should follow the typical 0.1 µF ceramic close to each supply pin, as recommended for SAR ADCs with internal reference.
