Flyback controller with clock sync and 96% duty cycle
The MAX1847EEE+T is a current-mode flyback controller from Analog Devices that handles step-up/step-down conversion in a single topology. Its 96% maximum duty cycle means it can maintain regulation through deep input dips — useful when the primary-side rail sags under load.
Supply rails and output configuration
Operating from a 3 V to 16.5 V Vcc supply, this controller drives an external transistor (the output type is Transistor Driver) and produces a negative output configuration — the flyback action inverts the polarity relative to the input. No synchronous rectifier on-chip, so the secondary-side diode drop and its thermal budget are design variables you own. Single output phase, one output channel, with Enable and Frequency Control as the control features.
Package and lifecycle
