The MAX1836EUT33+T is a step-down (buck) switching regulator that delivers a fixed 3.3V output at up to 125mA from an input rail between 4.5V and 24V. It is a non-synchronous buck, meaning it uses an external Schottky catch diode rather than a second internal FET — a common trade-off at this current level that keeps the BOM simple and the package small. The SOT-23-6 footprint is a standard small-outline transistor package, so it fits on compact boards and is straightforward to hand-solder or reflow with a standard profile.
Input range and output rail
The 4.5V minimum input means it can run from a 5V rail with headroom, while the 24V maximum covers 12V and 24V industrial supplies without an external pre-regulator. The fixed 3.3V output eliminates the need for an external resistor divider — just the inductor, catch diode, and output caps complete the converter.
