1A LDO with adjustable or fixed 3.3V output

The MAX1793EUE33+T: The output can be set to an adjustable voltage from 1.25 V up to 5 V, or it can be ordered with a fixed 3.3 V output — the E33 suffix indicates the fixed 3.3 V variant, though the part also supports adjustable configuration via external resistors.

Maximum dropout voltage is 0.35 V at the full 1 A load — the input rail needs to stay at least 350 mV above the output voltage to keep the regulator in regulation. A 3.3 V output therefore requires a minimum input of about 3.65 V under load, which is well within the 5.5 V absolute maximum input rating. Quiescent current is 200 µA typical — this is the current the regulator draws from the input regardless of load. For a battery-powered design drawing 1 A, the 200 µA overhead is negligible; for a system in sleep mode drawing microamps, the 200 µA Iq dominates the standby budget and a lower-Iq LDO would be a better fit. Protection features include over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit shutdown — the regulator survives a hard short on the output without damage and recovers when the fault clears. The Enable and Reset control pins allow the system to sequence the rail on/off and monitor the output for power-good indication.
