Regulator for power-sensitive rails
The Maxim Integrated MAX1792EUA15+ is a positive linear regulator delivering up to 500 mA output current. It accepts an input voltage up to 5.5 V and provides an adjustable output from 1.25 V upward, with a fixed 1.5 V option tied to the specific suffix. The 250 µA quiescent current is moderate — suitable for always-on supply rails in industrial control, automotive body electronics, or telecom line cards where the load doesn't require ultra-low standby draw. The -40°C to 125°C operating temperature range covers under-hood and outdoor enclosure environments.
Control and protection
The regulator includes an enable pin for on/off control and a reset output that flags when the output drops out of regulation — useful for sequencing downstream loads or resetting a microcontroller on power-up. Built-in over-current and over-temperature protection handle fault conditions without external clamp diodes.
