The MAX17843ACB/V+ is an active-production battery monitor IC from Analog Devices, designed for 12-series-cell battery packs in automotive and industrial applications. It communicates over a UART interface and supports multi-chemistry cell types — Li-ion, LiFePO4, or others — so the same BOM can serve different pack chemistries. If your BMS sees engine-bay heat or cold-soak, this holds the line. The 64-LQFP package (10x10 mm) is a standard, reworkable footprint — a hot-air station on site can swap it without a reflow oven, which matters when a field repair means getting a pack back online without a full board spin.

Fault protection and monitoring depth
