2A step-down buck with 36V input ceiling
The MAX17632AATE+ is a fixed 3.3V output, 2A-capable synchronous buck regulator from Analog Devices, covering a 4.5V to 36V input range. The 400kHz to 2.2MHz switching frequency lets you balance inductor size against efficiency — run at the lower end for better light-load efficiency, or push higher to shrink the magnetics. Synchronous rectification means the low-side FET replaces the external Schottky diode, dropping the conduction loss at 2A by roughly the diode's Vf times the duty cycle. For a 3.3V rail from a 24V bus, the duty cycle is about 14%, so the loss saving is modest but the BOM count drops by one diode.
Thermal and temperature envelope
Without that land, the 2A output at high input voltage will push the junction above the thermal shutdown threshold.
