Key ratings and what they mean for your BOM
Switching frequency is programmable from 100 kHz to 2.2 MHz via an external resistor. Lower frequencies improve efficiency but need a bigger inductor; higher frequencies shrink the magnetics at the cost of some switching loss. For a 50 mA rail, the inductor is small either way, but the flexibility matters if you're trying to keep the switcher out of a sensitive frequency band. The -40°C to 125°C junction temperature rating covers industrial enclosures and under-hood automotive environments. If the board sits near a hot motor or in direct sunlight, this part won't derate early.
Lifecycle and compliance
It's ROHS3 compliant, so it passes the material restrictions for EU and most global markets without an exemption hunt.
