Product details

Wide-input dual buck for industrial rails

The MAX17521ATG+ is a dual-output step-down (buck) regulator from Analog Devices, packing two independent 1 A channels into a 24-TQFN (4x4 mm) package. The synchronous rectifier keeps efficiency above 85 % across most of the load range, which matters when the module is mounted in a sealed enclosure with no airflow.

Switching frequency choices and thermal layout

The part offers two selectable switching frequencies: 300 kHz and 560 kHz. The lower frequency reduces switching losses and improves light-load efficiency — useful for always-on sensor nodes that spend most of their time in a low-current state. The higher frequency shrinks the inductor and output capacitor footprint, which helps when board space is tight. Without that thermal via array under the pad, the module will hit thermal shutdown well below its rated 1 A per channel in a 70 °C ambient.
