Wide-input buck for industrial and 48V rails
The MAX17505ATP+: The 60 V maximum input covers 48 V telecom and industrial bus voltages with margin for transients, while the 4.5 V minimum allows operation from a 5 V rail with headroom. Output is adjustable from 0.9 V up to 54 V, suiting it for powering downstream 3.3 V, 5 V, or variable-core rails from a single design.
Switching frequency and synchronous rectification
Switching frequency is programmable from 200 kHz to 2.2 MHz, letting the designer trade off inductor size against efficiency — lower frequencies reduce switching losses, higher frequencies shrink the magnetics. Built-in synchronous rectification eliminates the external catch diode, improving efficiency at light loads and simplifying the BOM.
