Package and board-fit — 10-TDFN exposed pad
The MAX17502GATB+T comes in a 10-WFDFN exposed pad package (supplier device package 10-TDFN, 3x2 mm). The exposed paddle must be soldered to a thermal land on the PCB — the datasheet's recommended footprint ties the paddle to GND for both electrical and thermal conduction. Surface-mount assembly on Tape & Reel (TR) for volume pick-and-place; Cut Tape (CT) available for prototype runs.
This is a step-down (buck) converter with a 4.5V to 60V input range, outputting 1A adjustable from 0.9V up to 55.2V. The wide input covers 12V, 24V, and 48V industrial rails, plus automotive battery lines with load-dump transients. Switching at 600 kHz, the internal synchronous rectifier keeps efficiency high at low output voltages — no external Schottky diode needed. The single positive output is adjustable via a resistor divider.
Temperature grade and operating environment
Junction temp at full load depends on board copper area under the exposed pad; a 1A output at high ambient requires thermal design attention.
