Himalaya step-down regulator — 60 V input, 500 mA output
The MAX17501GATB+T is a 500 mA step-down (buck) regulator from Analog Devices' Himalaya series, accepting 4.5 V to 60 V input and delivering an adjustable output from 0.9 V up to 55.2 V. Switching at 600 kHz, it integrates a synchronous rectifier, keeping external inductor and capacitor sizes small while maintaining efficiency across the load range. The 10-TDFN (3x2 mm) exposed-pad package sits on the board with the thermal pad soldered to a copper plane — the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance depends on the PCB copper area, not just the package itself.
The 60 V input ceiling covers 48 V nominal telecom rails, 24 V industrial buses, and 12 V automotive systems with load-dump transients — no external clamp needed below the 60 V limit.
