Single-cell fuel gauge with ModelGauge algorithm
The Maxim Integrated MAX17201G+ is a single-cell battery monitor from the ModelGauge series, designed to report state-of-charge and voltage via an I2C interface. It comes in a 14-TDFN (3x3 mm) package and operates over -40°C to 85°C, suiting portable and industrial battery-powered equipment where accurate fuel gauging is needed without a separate coulomb counter.
I2C readout and single-cell fit
Communication is over I2C, so the host MCU reads voltage and capacity data directly. The part is specified for one series cell — lithium-ion or LiFePO4 — and the ModelGauge algorithm compensates for temperature and discharge rate without requiring a current-sense resistor. That saves board area and BOM cost in single-cell handhelds, wearables, or IoT nodes.
Lifecycle and compliance
It is ROHS3 compliant, so no Pb or restricted substances above threshold.
