Buck controller for non-isolated step-down rails
The MAX1649CPA+ is a current-mode step-down (buck) switching regulator controller from Analog Devices, designed to drive an external N-channel MOSFET for non-isolated DC-DC conversion. It operates from a 3V to 16V supply rail and delivers a single positive output with a maximum duty cycle of 96.5%, allowing the output to approach the input voltage closely. Switching frequency reaches up to 300kHz, and the controller includes an Enable control feature for on/off sequencing.
Through-hole 8-DIP package for prototyping and low-volume builds
Housed in an 8-pin DIP (0.300" row spacing, 7.62mm body width) with through-hole mounting, the MAX1649CPA+ is suited for breadboard prototyping, socketed evaluation, and low-volume production where hand-assembly or wave-solder is preferred. The 8-PDIP package (Supplier Device Package 8-PDIP) has a 0.100" pin pitch and standard 0.300" width, compatible with common DIP sockets and perfboard layouts.
Active production, ROHS3 compliant
It is ROHS3 compliant (2011/65/EU + 2015/863), with no lead, mercury, cadmium, or other restricted substances above threshold limits.
