Buck regulator, 2A, 16-SSOP — parametric fit for point-of-load rails
The MAX1644EAE+T is a single-output step-down (buck) switching regulator from Analog Devices, rated for 2A continuous output current with synchronous rectification for improved efficiency at low output voltages. Switching frequency runs up to 350kHz — high enough to keep inductor and capacitor sizes small for point-of-load designs, but low enough to avoid the switching losses and layout sensitivity of multi-MHz converters. Output is adjustable from a 1.1V minimum up to 5.5V, with factory-programmed fixed presets at 2.525V and 3.33V — useful for DDR termination or 3.3V I/O rails without external resistor dividers.
Industrial temperature grade and package — board-fit constraints
Housed in a 16-SSOP (5.30mm width) surface-mount package — the 0.209-inch body width fits standard SSOP-16 footprints; the supplier device package is also 16-SSOP, so the land pattern is consistent across sourcing lots. Cut Tape works for prototype runs or small-batch builds where reel minimums are uneconomical.
Lifecycle and compliance — no end-of-life risk
ROHS3 compliant — meets the current EU restriction standard for lead, mercury, cadmium, and phthalates; no exemption expiry to track.
