Step-down regulator with synchronous rectification
The MAX1644EAE+ is a current-mode step-down (buck) switching regulator from Analog Devices, delivering up to 2A from a 3V to 5.5V input rail. It integrates synchronous rectification, which eliminates the external Schottky catch diode and improves efficiency at lower output voltages. Switching frequency runs up to 350 kHz, allowing a reasonable inductor size for the 2A output.
Output voltage and package fit
Output is adjustable (programmable) with a minimum fixed option of 1.1V, and preset taps at 2.525V and 3.33V — the external feedback divider sets the final voltage up to 5.5V.
Active production and compliance status
RoHS3 compliant (2011/65/EU + 2015/863), with no added REACH SVHC above threshold per the manufacturer's declaration.
