Supply voltage and temperature — what they mean for fit
The 26V supply maximum is the main fit check: if your rail is 24V nominal with transients, this part has margin. Below that, the charger runs from any regulated supply down to the minimum operating voltage. The -40°C to 85°C range covers most industrial and outdoor equipment — motor drives, base stations, instrumentation — but not automotive under-hood or downhole. For a BOM line in a 24V system, the supply rating is the gate; the temperature grade confirms the environment.
Constant programmable charging — how it works
Constant - Programmable means the charge current is set by an external resistor, not fixed internally.
Package and mounting
Surface Mount in a 16-QSOP — the narrow-body 3.90 mm width SSOP footprint. The Tube shipping medium is typical for small quantities; reels are available through the supply chain. The 16-QSOP is a common footprint for mixed-signal ICs, so board layout guides from other Maxim charger parts in the same package apply.
