What the MAX1617AMEE+T does and where it fits
The MAX1617AMEE+T is a digital temperature sensor that monitors both its own die temperature (local) and an external diode-connected transistor (remote) over a -55°C to 125°C range. It communicates over an SMBus interface and reports temperature with a 7-bit resolution.
Accuracy and the remote sensing channel
Accuracy is ±2°C typical (±3°C maximum) over the 60°C to 100°C test window, with the full -55°C to 125°C operating range covered. The remote channel measures a diode junction and compensates for the ideality factor.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
No end-of-life notice or last-time-buy window has been announced. For a BOM line that needs a qualified second source, the base variant without the 'A' suffix is the same die in the same package.
