Boost converter with a 28 V ceiling
The MAX1606EUA+ is a current-mode step-up (boost) DC-DC converter from Analog Devices, designed to generate a regulated output voltage up to 28 V from a low-voltage input rail as low as 2.4 V.
Input range and output flexibility
The output is adjustable from a 0.8 V minimum up to 28 V via an external resistor divider, covering applications from biasing LCD panels to powering sensor rails or OLED displays. With a single positive output and no synchronous rectifier, the design is straightforward: a Schottky diode, an inductor, and a few passives complete the converter.
Package and board integration
Housed in the 8-pin uMAX/uSOP package (3.00 mm width, 0.118" pitch), the MAX1606EUA+ fits into space-constrained layouts where a full-size SOIC would be too wide.
It is fully ROHS3 compliant, with no exemption conflicts for EU-market equipment or lead-free assembly lines.
