What the 4-channel monitor means for a board

The MAX16009TG+T is a multi-voltage supervisor from Analog Devices that monitors four independent supply rails. Four monitored channels let one IC cover the core, I/O, memory, and auxiliary voltages on a mixed-supply board, replacing four single-channel supervisors and their associated pull-up resistors and decoupling. Each channel's threshold is adjustable via external resistor dividers, and the reset timeout period is also adjustable or selectable. That flexibility means the supervisor can be tuned to the exact power-up sequence of a processor, FPGA, or system-on-module without a factory-programmed part number.

Output type and reset behavior

The reset output is active-low, open-drain. An open-drain output lets multiple supervisors share a common pull-up resistor and wire-OR their reset signals, so a fault on any rail pulls the shared reset line low. Because the output is open-drain, the reset signal stays valid even if the monitored supply rail collapses completely — the pull-up resistor connects to a separate, always-on standby rail.

Temperature range and deployment context

A 125°C maximum means it can sit next to a hot processor or power stage without derating the supervisory function.
