Single-cell Li-Ion charger with 800 mA ceiling
The MAX1508ETA+T is a constant-current, constant-voltage linear charger for single-cell Lithium-Ion packs, delivering up to 800 mA programmable charge current to a 4.2 V float voltage. The 6.5 V maximum supply input means the part runs comfortably from a 5 V USB bus or a regulated wall adapter, but the absolute-max rating is not a nominal operating condition — stay below 6.5 V at the IN pin per the datasheet's absolute-maximum table.
Protection and temperature envelope
Built-in over-voltage protection (OVP) on the input disconnects the charger if the supply exceeds the safe threshold — this is a hard shutdown, not a foldback, so the battery sees no trickle current during a fault event.
Package and board-fit
Surface-mount only; the Tape & Reel (TR) and Cut Tape (CT) options suit both production reels and prototype hand-assembly quantities.
