Product details

76V output from a 2.8V rail — the APD bias lift

The MAX15059AETE+T is a DC-DC converter designed specifically for avalanche photodiode (APD) bias applications, taking a 2.8V to 5.5V input and stepping it up to a regulated 3.3V to 76V output. The single-output architecture keeps the BOM simple for a dedicated bias rail. The 16-TQFN (3x3) package with exposed pad handles the thermal dissipation from the boost stage — the pad needs a good thermal via pattern to the ground plane to keep junction temperature under control at the upper end of the output range.

Active production, ROHS3 — no end-of-life scramble

ROHS3 compliant, which covers the full ten restricted substances including the four phthalates added in the 2015 amendment. No exemption expiry to watch on this one.

Industrial temp range and surface-mount integration

The surface-mount package suits automated assembly lines; the 16-WFQFN exposed pad requires a solder paste stencil aperture that covers at least 50% of the pad area for reliable thermal transfer. Cut Tape works for prototype quantities or small repair runs where you only need a handful of parts.
