3.3V fixed output, 50mA — the BOM-fit anchor
The MAX15006AATT+T is a single-output positive linear regulator delivering a fixed 3.3V at up to 50mA continuous. That 3.3V rail is the most common digital supply in mixed-signal designs — microcontrollers, sensors, transceivers — so the fixed output saves an external resistor divider and one feedback pin trace. Maximum input voltage is 40V, which means it can regulate cleanly off a 12V automotive battery (including cold-crank dips to 6V and load-dump spikes up to 40V) without a pre-regulator. The 1V dropout at 50mA is tight enough that a 5V rail feeding it still holds regulation through a 1V sag.
PSRR and quiescent — the analog supply decision
66dB PSRR at 100Hz means the output ripple from a 100Hz full-wave rectified input is attenuated by a factor of 2000 — critical if this regulator powers an analog front-end or an audio codec that shares a board with a switching converter. Above 100Hz the PSRR rolls off, so a 100kHz switcher upstream should be followed by an LC filter before this LDO. Quiescent current is 17 µA typical, supply current maxes at 150 µA. For an always-on module that spends most of its time in a low-power state — a CAN transceiver or a keyless-entry receiver — the regulator's own draw is comparable to the load, so the total sleep budget stays under 200 µA.
Package and thermal — what the 6-TDFN means for layout
6-WDFN with exposed pad, supplier device package 6-TDFN (3x3 mm). Without that plane, the 125°C max junction temperature limits the output current at high ambient. Operating temperature range -40°C to 125°C covers both under-hood automotive and industrial cabinet environments.
