What this isolator delivers
The MAX14936DAWE+ is a 4-channel, unidirectional digital isolator using capacitive coupling for 5000Vrms isolation.
Channel configuration and timing
Two inputs on side 1, two on side 2 — a 2/2 split that suits bidirectional data paths like isolated SPI (SCLK and MOSI one way, MISO the other) or general-purpose I/O isolation. Propagation delay is 54.1 ns typical on the low-to-high edge and 55.3 ns on high-to-low, with pulse-width distortion capped at 4.5 ns. Rise and fall times are a fast 2 ns typical, so signal edges stay clean even at 1 Mbps. The 25 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity (typical) keeps data intact when large voltage transients slam across the barrier — a key spec for motor-drive or inverter environments where fast IGBT switching couples noise.
Package and temperature grade
Housed in a 16-SOIC wide-body (0.295-inch, 7.50 mm width) — the standard footprint for reinforced isolation in industrial designs. Operating temperature spans -40°C to 125°C, so it is at home in motor-drive cabinets, outdoor telecom shelters, and under-hood automotive modules (though not formally AEC-Q qualified per the listing). The surface-mount package suits automated assembly; no isolated power is built in, so the design must supply separate power domains on each side.
Sourcing and lifecycle
Marked as Active in production with ROHS3 compliance. This part is sourced through independent distribution and quoted to order against an RFQ.
