Capacitive isolator for mixed-voltage industrial interfaces
The MAX14932AASE+ is a four-channel general-purpose digital isolator using capacitive coupling to pass signals across a 2750Vrms isolation barrier. Two channels run in each direction (2/2 input/output split). Data rate tops out at 1Mbps, typical for isolated UART, I²C, or lower-speed SPI links. Propagation delay is 54.1 ns (tpLH) and 55.3 ns (tpHL) max, with pulse-width distortion held to 4.5 ns — tight enough to keep clock jitter under control on a 1 MHz bus. Common-mode transient immunity is rated at 25 kV/µs minimum, so it holds its state through the fast voltage swings found in motor-drive or inverter ground planes. The part operates across -40°C to 125°C, suiting it for industrial enclosures, outdoor telecom cabinets, and under-hood automotive auxiliary circuits. Package is a 16-SOIC (3.90 mm width) for surface-mount assembly.
