IO-Link transceiver for industrial sensor hubs
The MAX14827AATG+T from Analog Devices (formerly Maxim Integrated) is an IO-Link transceiver designed for the physical layer of industrial sensor and actuator interfaces. It integrates two drivers and two receivers (2/2) in a single 24-TQFN (4x4 mm) package, supporting the IO-Link protocol for point-to-point communication in factory automation and process control systems. The wide supply range from 9V to 60V allows direct connection to industrial 24V rails with headroom for voltage transients, common in motor-drive cabinets and sensor junction boxes. The 570 mV receiver hysteresis provides noise margin on long cable runs in electrically noisy environments. Rated for -40°C to 125°C, this transceiver suits outdoor telecom cabinets, under-hood automotive modules, and factory-floor sensors where ambient temperatures exceed commercial limits.
Supply voltage and thermal design
The 9V to 60V supply range covers 12V, 24V, and 48V industrial rails. The 24-WFQFN exposed pad package requires a thermal via array under the pad to keep the junction temperature within limits at high ambient and maximum load. The 2/2 driver/receiver count means two IO-Link ports per chip, reducing component count in multi-channel master or hub designs.
Active lifecycle and sourcing posture
The MAX14827AATG+T carries an Active product status and is ROHS3 compliant.
