The MAX14780EEPA+ is an Analog Devices half-duplex transceiver supporting RS422 and RS485 protocols at a data rate of 500 kbps. The 100 mV receiver hysteresis provides built-in noise rejection on long cable runs.

The 8-PDIP footprint is widely compatible with standard DIP sockets or direct solder to the PCB. The through-hole format simplifies manual assembly and rework, but the larger package footprint should be accounted for in board real-estate planning compared to surface-mount alternatives.
