What this ADC brings to the board
The Maxim MAX146AEAP+ is a 12-bit SAR ADC with an integrated input multiplexer and sample-and-hold, in a 20-pin SSOP package. It handles up to 8 single-ended or 4 differential inputs, switched through the MUX before the converter stage.
Input flexibility and channel count
The MUX front-end lets you configure the part for 4 differential or 8 single-ended inputs. Differential mode gives better common-mode rejection for noisy industrial environments; single-ended mode doubles the channel count for monitoring multiple DC voltages or slow analog signals like temperature and pressure transducers. The internal or external reference option gives you a choice between a stable on-chip bandgap or an external precision reference if the system already has one.
Package and footprint
