Switch topology and signal path
The MAX14536EEVB+T is a single-channel SPDT (single-pole double-throw) analog switch with a 2:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer topology, rated for audio and video signal routing. Break-before-make switching ensures the two signal paths never short together during transition — critical for maintaining channel isolation in multiplexed audio lines or video crosspoint matrices.
On-resistance and bandwidth — what limits the signal
The -3 dB bandwidth is 100 MHz, so the switch passes composite video (6 MHz) and component HD video (30–50 MHz) without measurable roll-off; the bandwidth ceiling is the package parasitics, not the silicon.
Single-supply operation from 2.4 V to 5.5 V covers the common analog rails — 3.3 V for mixed-signal CODECs, 5 V for legacy video DACs, and 2.5 V for low-power portable audio codecs.
Housed in a 10-lead UTQFN measuring 1.4 x 1.8 mm (supplier package 10-UTQFN), the footprint is a 0.4 mm-pitch array — the exposed pad on the underside must be soldered to a ground-plane island for thermal relief and mechanical stability. CT is available for prototype or low-volume builds.
