800 MHz bandwidth, 3 Ohm on-resistance — what drives the USB 2.0 fit
The MAX14531EEWC+T is a DP3T (3:1) analog switch from Analog Devices, designed for USB 2.0 and audio signal routing. Its 800 MHz -3dB bandwidth comfortably exceeds the 480 Mbps USB 2.0 data rate, preserving signal edge integrity without introducing jitter — the bandwidth margin means the switch does not become the timing bottleneck in the path. On-resistance is 3 Ohm max, which keeps the insertion loss low enough that the downstream receiver still sees a valid differential voltage swing.
The part comes in a 12-bump WLP (Wafer-Level Package), supplier device package 12-WLP (2.14x1.56 mm). The bump pitch is 0.5 mm — a standard four-layer PCB with microvia fan-out under the die works; a two-layer board will struggle to route all three signal paths without necking the trace width below the impedance target.
