Product details

RS-485/RS-422 half-duplex transceiver for industrial bus nodes

The MAX13430EEUB+T is a single-channel half-duplex transceiver supporting both RS-485 and RS-422 protocols at a data rate of 500 kbps, making it suitable for differential data buses in factory automation, building control, and instrumentation networks. With one driver and one receiver on chip, it connects a single node to a multi-drop RS-485 bus — the standard topology for distributed sensor arrays and PLC remote I/O links.

The 15 mV receiver hysteresis filters out differential noise picked up on long twisted-pair cables — without it, a floating bus or slow-edge transition can cause the receiver output to chatter at the UART input.
