Key ratings and what they mean for the BOM
The 145 mΩ typical Rds(on) at 1 A per channel means conduction loss is roughly 145 mW per channel at full load — the exposed pad on the 10-TDFN package handles that heat if the PCB has a decent thermal via stitch. The 1 A per-output ceiling is per-channel; the total package dissipation limits the sum of both channels, so derate if both run near 1 A simultaneously in a hot environment. The watchdog timer is a useful bonus: it monitors a toggle on the On/Off interface and resets the outputs if the host controller stalls, which can eliminate a separate watchdog supervisor from the BOM. Fault protection includes fixed current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, and UVLO — all self-recovering, so no external reset circuitry needed.
Lifecycle and sourcing reality
The MAX13253ATB+T carries an Active lifecycle status, so there is no last-time-buy risk and no imminent obsolescence to plan around. It is ROHS3 compliant.
