The MAX1324ECM+ is a 14-bit successive-approximation ADC from Analog Devices that captures eight single-ended inputs with simultaneous sampling — meaning all channels are sampled at the same instant rather than sequentially, preserving phase alignment across a multi-channel signal chain. Its 250k samples-per-second aggregate rate, combined with an 8:1 S/H-to-ADC ratio, means the internal track-and-hold front-end captures all eight channels before the single SAR converter digitizes them in sequence — a common architecture for motor-drive current sensing or vibration monitoring where channel-to-channel timing matters.
Supply rails and data interface
Data comes off the chip on a parallel bus, which gives deterministic read latency — relevant for real-time control loops where a serial-interface ADC's conversion-to-read delay would add jitter. Reference selection is flexible: use the internal bandgap for a standalone design, or inject an external reference when the system already carries a precision voltage source.
