12-bit, 8-channel SAR ADC with simultaneous sampling
The Maxim Integrated MAX1312ECM+ is a 12-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) ADC that digitises eight single-ended inputs at 456k samples per second. Its internal sample-and-hold array is configured as 8:1 ratio — meaning all eight channels are sampled simultaneously, then converted sequentially through a single ADC core. This architecture is essential for applications that require phase-coherent measurements across multiple channels, such as polyphase power monitoring, vibration analysis, or multi-axis motion control.
Supply rails and interface
The analog supply is a fixed 5 V rail; the digital supply accepts 2.7 V to 5.25 V, letting you interface directly with 3.3 V or 5 V logic without a level shifter. The parallel data interface gives deterministic read timing — no serial latency — which matters when the host controller needs to capture a full channel set within a tight sampling window.
Package and temperature grade
Housed in a 48-pin LQFP (7x7 mm body) with surface-mount soldering, the part is rated for the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. That covers most factory-floor and outdoor telecom enclosures. The reference can be driven externally or taken from the internal bandgap — useful when you need ratiometric measurements or want to save a precision reference IC.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
The MAX1312ECM+ carries an active lifecycle status and is ROHS3 compliant. For a BOM line that needs a 12-bit, 8-channel simultaneous-sampling ADC, this part is a current-production choice — not a legacy pull.
