12-bit SAR ADC with simultaneous capture
The MAX1308ECM+ is a 12-bit successive-approximation register (SAR) ADC from Analog Devices, sampling eight single-ended inputs at 456k samples per second with simultaneous sampling across all channels. The 8:1 S/H:ADC ratio means each input has its own track-and-hold, so the voltage on each channel is captured at the same instant — critical for phase-sensitive measurements like motor current sensing or multi-axis vibration monitoring where inter-channel skew distorts the vector sum.
Supply rails and reference flexibility
The reference can be driven externally or use the internal reference — external lets you match the ADC's full-scale range to the sensor's output swing, maximising the 12-bit resolution over the actual signal amplitude.
